Rule 1	1 count	Violation of any law or ordinance. Count 1 Not Guilty A. On or around March 25, 1999, at Marshall Fields, 835 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, Crossing Guard Sherrithe Pearson committed the offense of retail theft in that she took possession of merchandise displayed for sale in Marshall Fields, a retail mercantile establishment, with the intention of retaining such merchandise or the intention of depriving the merchant permanently of the benefit of such merchandise without paying the full retail value of such merchandise, thereby violating Chapter 720 ILCS 5/16-3(a).
Rule 2	1 count	Any action or conduct which impedes the Department's efforts to achieve its policy and goals or brings discredit upon the Department. Count 1 Not Guilty On or around March 25, 1999, at Marshall Fields, 835 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, Crossing Guard Sherrithe Pearson, while wearing a Chicago Police Department overcoat and safety vest, committed the offense of retail theft for which she was subsequently arrested and charged, thereby impeding the Department's efforts to achieve its policy and goals and/or bringing discredit upon the Department.
