Rule 8	1 count	Disrespect to or maltreatment of any person, while on or off duty. Count 1 Not Guilty On August 16, 1997, at approximately 1524 hours, while in the vicinity of 10143 South Vernon Avenue, while off duty, he did not maltreat Marian L. Murphy and did not push or strike her in the face with his hand, during a domestic altercation.

Count 1 Guilty On November 7, 1997, at approximately 1030 hours, he was found guilty of the offense of simple battery, after a trial to open court in Branch 62 of the Circuit Court of Cook Country. Count 2 Not Guilty On August 16, 1997, at approximately 1524 hours, while in the vicinity of 10143 South Vernon Avenue, while off duty, he did not maltreat Marian L. Murphy and did not push her and strike her in the face with his hahttp://www.cpbinfocenter.org/extranet/cases/new#nd, during a domestic altercation.

In light of the additional testimony and evidence presented at the hearing before the Police Board that was not available to the Circuit Court of Cook Country, and: cause exists for the reinstatement of the Respondent, Police Officer John M. Brownridge, Star #2874, in the Department of Police and to the services of the City of Chicago, with a decision of infraction noted / no penalty.
